APPEARANCE: Ken stands a wiry 5'9", with a somewhat scrawny but quite strong build, and a noticeably large bust. Her eyes are bright green, fiery and adventurous, and are usually mirrored in her smile. She wears her reddish-orange hair cut short and messy, one longer segment hanging on the right side of her face in a braid.
 Her mode of dress is very casual, mostly because she only owns one set of clothing. She wears loose and baggy shorts, a thick belt that carries her single pokeball as a keyring, a navy-striped t-shirt cut off at her midriff, and bare feet (or a pair of battered boots when necessary). She also sports a navy-blue "pirate" style bandanna, complete with skull-and-crossbones (even though it leads many people to believe she's in Team Aqua).

BACKGROUND: Ken was born (as Kendria Adara Wray, which she firmly denies) to an extremely average family of Sootopolis. Although her mother passed away not long after her birth, the girl never found herself wanting for parental affection; more determined than ever to raise Ken well in his wife's memory, her father devoted himself to being a good parent, and the pair formed a ferociously strong bond over the years.
 Like her father had as a child, Ken took to the ocean around her like a duck to - okay, stupid simile ^^; - and was swimming before she could walk (and sailing soon after). Combined with her adventurous and headstrong nature, this meant that it wasn't long before she wanted to skip the boundaries of home and head out into the world. Though concerned, her father didn't think for a moment of standing in her way (though he promised to take back his permission before she left, so that she could tell everybody she'd run away from home).
 That was when she was ten, the approved age for a starting Trainer. She's been travelling since, amongst occasional trips back home, and has grown up a whole lot; rather than training pokemon, she spends most of her time wandering the routes and seeking our injured pokemon who need help. Occasionally they choose to stay with her a while, and she helps them find good homes or strong groups in the wild - however, she has only ever "kept" one, her constant Mightyena companion Leona.

PERSONALITY: Generally, Ken is easygoing and laidback, and is happier to wander wherever life takes her, making new friends and taking each experience in stride. However, she tends to get restless when life gets boring, and is only too happy to seek out trouble when none presents itself. She's also extremely stubborn and headstrong - she doggedly follows her own will, and instantly rebels against anybody who attempts to control her. She holds to her beliefs with a startling ferocity - the same loyalty that she shows to her friends, once they can earn her respect.
 On that note, Ken grew up idolising both her father and the young Gym Leader Mikuri. Because of this, her standards tend to be a bit unrealistically high, especially for males - in her eyes, a worthy person should be able to match up to her father's caring and affection, Mikuri's beauty and style, and their mutual skill with pokemon. So earning her respect can be a bit tough ^^;

POKéMON: Ken keeps only one pokemon with her - a Mightyena named Leona, who became her companion after she rescued it from a flooded river. Just a pup, Leona was rather cowardly and pitiful at first - however, in order to stay with Ken, she devoted herself to training and overcoming her fears. Since her evolution, she's a lot more proud and confident, and happily faces any challenge that comes her way.
