Manifesto

(2010-08-24)

I am an atheist and a skeptic. People like to misunderstand those, whether deliberately or not, but in truth they are both simply negative stances; I do not believe in gods; I do not believe things that are without evidence, or cannot have evidence. Atheism is not a religion, and skepticism is not cynicism; neither of them inherently includes any property except a lack of belief in certain things.

Live Forever (2008)

(2008-11-09)

I wrote the original version of this song in 1999, and worked on it over the next few years, usually in the period of self-reflection that came upon me after one of my friends lost somebody close to them. It was pretty much finished and I was happy with it (hence it's posted below). Then, for some reason, it was running through my head earlier this week while I was working. In retrospect, I realised something I never would have when I first wrote it - I essentially had on my hands a song about atheism.

She Likes (Wedding version)

(2004-08-20)

My wonderful, wonderful friend V wrote music to this song so I could perform it at my wedding. In the process, he inspired me to change some lyrics, and as a result I like this version a lot better.

She Likes

(2002-01-01)

And they say that being happy stops you from writing mopey songs. Feh! ;p

Beautiful When You Cry

(2001-01-01)

A little bit of introspection, from one of the very newest projects I'm working on - Naku-Ame, or Crying Rain (or Crying Bitch, as my dear Talen is so fond of pointing out (seethe).

Already Given (A Song for Her)

(2001-01-01)

She knows who she is ^______^

Live Forever

(2001-01-01)

A recently-finished song about death. Started it when a friend's mother was sick, continued it when another friend's mother died, and finished it when a different friend's grandfather died. So a lot of work has gone into it, you'd better like it.

Hold the Flame (Fox's Song)

(2000-01-01)

Again from Team Pokémon, this song is about the love/hate relationship between my character and her smitten friend, Jon.

River and Stories

(1999-01-01)

Written to be sung a capella, with more voices than I can manage to muster, unfortunately. It's... not happy, not depressive, sorta in the middle. Wow! Look! Balance!

Remember as the Rain Falls

(1999-01-01)

Song about sumbuddy dying. Finished recently.

Let it Rain

(1999-01-01)

Written for another one of my works in progress, a fantasy epic called When the Rains Came. Depressive love song.

Angel

(1999-01-01)

BtVS-based. I was basically trying to express how Buffy felt about Angel, and/or the fact that she had fallen into the ultimate tragic romance.

Don't You Ever Say Goodbye

(1999-01-01)

NG:E based, inspired by the bit where Shinji tells Rei not to say goodbye. Written in '99, and bits of it got printed in the NG:E manga (sugoi!)

Trust the Feeling (Team Excalibur's Theme)

(1999-01-01)

The theme song for my Team Pokémon team. I was trying to more or less go with the feel of the TV show's theme (NOT the new version, thank you very much).

If I Could Touch You

(1999-01-01)

Also based on BtVS, this one is from Angel's POV, when he was forced to leave Buffy *sniff, sob*... I rather like this one.

Forever You

(1999-01-01)

This one I'm really proud of. It's the main theme from The Days Still Left (not the fanfic version; an original story based very loosely on the fanfic).

Songs & Poetry

Songs and Poetry - most of it kind of old and awful, some of it actually pretty neat.
