Name: Elias Winter (his friends would call him Elli if they existed)
Age: 15
Role: Withdrawn artist

Powers: Exactly what Elli's powers do is still a bit of a mystery. They seem to revolve around making things change, though Elli himself is never directly effected; he believes that he simply causes disasters, but these aren't actually his fault. Rather, he has some ability to interact with the X-gene or influence mutant powers; he's caused so many grand problems not by himself, but by affecting mutant powers in others - frequently awakening a latent gene before the carrier is ready. Although there are almost definitely practical uses for this power which may emerge once Elli has some control over it, he's currently under Xavier's supervision more for damage control (and his own protection) than anything else.

Rank: 3 because Talen said I have to. Definitely a low three, though. That rank is for raw power, though, because he simply can't control it at the moment.

Weaknesses: Elli has no control over his powers, and no way to use them offensively - yet. Even when he does, it's likey that he still won't be able to affect /himself/ in any way. Also, powers aside, Elli is quite a fragile specimen physically, and currently has no combat ability.

Personality: Elli is quiet, shy, withdrawn, and generally unobtrusive. It's not that he dislikes people, just that he doesn't know how to deal well on a social level, and is scared of getting too close to others in case he causes them to have some kind of horrible accident or explode into a supernova of unknown mutant powers. He spends most of his time reading or drawing (he's a very good artist), and generally comes across as a classic art-nerd (socially incompetent, but tasteful). Most people at Bayville High probably don't even know his name, including many teachers.

Likes: Snow, wind, rain, autumn leaves, art, birds, hot chocolate.
Dislikes: Sports, socialising, hot weather, his powers.

Brief History: Born in a Adaminaby*, a quiet little town in  Australia's Alpine region, Elli's childhood life was largely uneventful; naturally shy and thoughtful, he spent most of his time on his own. When the local tourist industry was dampened after a terrible landslide**, however - an incident which also claimed the life of his mother - his father had to give up their business and move to a larger town. There, Elli was enrolled in a full-sized school for the first time; his mutant powers (such as they are) were first noticed soon after the move, and he was forced to leave the school after one too many freak accidents. His father was fairly desperate when he was approached by Xavier regarding the Academy, so the rest pretty much explains itself. His father (Stephen) still lives in Australia, by the way, so he'll be boarding at AX.

Appearance: Elli stands about 5'3", and is definitely on the scrawny side of healthy weight. He's clear-skinned and relatively pale (not pallid or anything), and has a slender build and easy - quite effeminate - features. His hair is a soft grey - the same shade as his eyes - and he wears it grown to somewhere around his shoulders.   His clothing is unfashionable but not unappealing - it's vaguely gothy, but with a distinct grass-roots flavour due to the fact that he got it all at op-shops***. He tends towards loose, layered clothing which is a size or two too big, drab and understated colours; in winter, his tendency to wear a hugely oversized old coat, scarf and wool gloves makes him look sort of like a well-dressed homeless person (he loves the outfit, maybe out of homesickness - one of the reasons he dislikes summer). He also usually wears a couple of grey feathers behind his ear.
