KIT PLAYER: Fox Lee (http://foxlee.arts-eclectic.com) NAME: "Kit" - true name unknown AGE: Somewhere between thirteen and sixteen. RACE: Human SEX: Male BLOOD TYPE: ? HEIGHT: Roughly 5'6" WEIGHT: About 74lbs SKIN: Pale, but not drastically so HAIR: Medium grey, fairly short, in no particular style. EYES: Light yellow-brown - and oddly empty. PROFESSION: Assassin/linguist SOCIAL STATUS: As a serf. BIRTH RANK: Unknown FAMILY STATUS: Unknown; presumed dead. ARCHETYPE: Freaky little puppet HOMELAND/BIRTHPLACE: Birthplace unknown; however, his "home" is in Gilneas. APPEARANCE: Generally small and unremarkable. Kit has narrow hips, thin (but not short) arms and legs, and a slim waist. He looks just slightly undernourished, and both his hips and shoulders are a little too angular to be considered truly attractive. The only thing really unusual about Kit is the way he carries himself; apart from both noble and peasant, many would find his demeanour simply impossible to place, almost like a trained animal or a machine. By the same token, however, he is seldom noticed; it is almost as if Kit were specifically designed to blend in with the crowd. Amusingly enough, this is because he /is/. HISTORY/BACKGROUND: All Kit knows about his background - parents, origin, ancestry - is that Genn Greymane is the only family he has ever known. His first memories are of growing up under his Lord's tutelage, receiving instruction in his various skills from as soon as he was old enough to understand. His upbringing was structured, calculated, and extremely strict; disobedience met with swift and severe punishment. From the beginning, he has carried the principle that his purpose in life is to fulfil his mission, whatever he was required to do. Everything else - pleasure, pain, fear, desire - was to be set aside until the goal had been achieved. He grew a quiet, reserved child, given to long hours of study and strict routine. His only contact, aside of those who taught him, was with a slightly older, redheaded, spitfire of a girl whose name he knew to be Arma. It seemed that she, too, was being raised to carry out a mission - though she regarded it with flippancy, saying that she didn't care what "they" wanted, and one day she was going to run away and join the orcish horde - or the circus, she hadn't decided yet. In fact, the only times she saw him was when she had run away from her foster-father, so she made Kit swear absolute secrecy, promising he'd never tell anybody that they had spoken. Interestingly, Kit kept this vow, even from Genn Greymane himself. Eventually, though, Arma stopped visiting. Kit believes that this is because, as she had remarked numerous times, a dead cow made for better conversation than he did, and yes, before he asked, she /had/ talked to a dead cow before, so there. He hasn't seen her since then, a full five years having passed since last they spoke. After twelve years of this life, Kit was, as it were, released. He was given the name of the target he was to dispose of - Perenolde of Alterac - and all the supplies he requested. He was also informed that another assassin - to whom they referred only as "she" - was setting out with the same goal. Kit's mission was to prove his superiority, by completing the mission before his unknown rival. He was also warned that there was one other limitation on his mission - that, should he cross paths with said rival, he would do her no harm, lest it be revisited upon him. And so, he set out... PERSONALITY: Quiet, mild and dispassionate, Kit seems to have a natural ability to blend into the background. When travelling alone, he keeps to himself and seeks the aid of others only where necessary; when travelling with others, he acts much the same, his unobtrusive presence barely noticeable amongst company. He speaks few words and chooses them carefully, and likewise, seldom gets involved in a fight except to fire the shot that ends it quickly. His grasp of logical concepts and ability to learn and retain information are nothing short of incredible, especially for his age; however, he seems to have problems getting his mind around some of the most "basic" concepts, such as humour and passion. In fact, a most perceptive person may realise that Kit's "normality" is a little /too/ normal, making him somehow different, and strangely unnerving. In short - people naturally tend to overlook the boy; however, once they /do/ notice him, he gives them the willies. Outside of his place with Greymane, Kit knows little of his past, and is unconcerned with finding out. His unknown parentage offers little bother, as he considers Genn both parent and creator. In fact, while he holds no illusions of Genn being a God, there is little difference between the lord and a deity where Kit is concerned; he is responsible for Kit's creation, he raised, taught and "nurtured" the boy, and his word is to be upheld to the letter. CLOTHING: Nothing too showy. Kit makes it practice to wear Greymane's signature black on him somewhere at any given time, though this is generally complemented by various natural and earthy tones in brown and grey. His preferred costume consists of a light grey undershirt with rolled-up sleeves to the elbow, under a short-sleeved black shirt, under a light grey overshirt and cloak. Also relatively close-fitting pants, sewn with a sort of leather greave reaching to the knee, and soft boots (or occasionally a pair with tougher soles for travelling. He also wears black gloves, which reach no further than his wrists. ACCESSORIES: The only visible accessory that Kit carries is a tin whistle, which hangs in a cylindrical case at his belt (it also doubles as a blowpipe). However, beneath the surface, Kit indeed carries a lot more than meets the eye. Under his shirts, he wears a layer of bandages wound around his torso, concealing four or five small vials of poisons on the right side of his chest. Strapped to the insides of his upper arms are darts for his blowpipe on the right, and a small, flat dagger on the left. A collection of fine lockpicks in a soft leather case are fastened around his lower right leg, mirrored on the left by another bandage, a single sewing needle and a length of thread tucked into it. He also carries a small wooden box, about the size of a small scrollcase or writing case. Presumably, this is where the scribe stores his writing materials; however, this doesn't not explain its occasional tendency to go "tick", nor the fact that he keeps his writing materials in another case in his backpack. SPECIAL MARKS: Unsurprisingly, Kit carries the mark of his Lord and "creator", Genn Greymane, tattooed on his body. Though very few know exactly where, and extremely tactful (and very quiet) watcher may find that the small mark is located on his left shoulder blade. LIKES: Though part of his training was learning to completely deny his own emotions, Kit seems to have retained but one personal like; animals. Not that he acts animated or even personable around them, but, if ever he has time to himself, it is likely that Kit will be found watching birds flying, or sharing his rations with a forest creature. DISLIKES: Practically nothing; though he does take insults to Genn Greymane very seriously. ABILITIES AND WEAKNESSES: As listed on character sheet. Because his true nature is generally concealed, Kit has been forced to acquire a range of abilities, related to both his mission and his "cover" identity as a scribe and linguist. His strengths lie in speed and stealth, in precise calculations and knowing his weapons. On the other hand, while Kit is quick of mind and body, his strength and endurance leave something to be desired. In fact, he's downright fragile where out-and-out fighting is concerned. Due to something beyond his control and beyond his understanding, he often finds random cuts and bruises showing up on his body, and even a more serious wound on occasion. Lastly - and largely an unknown quantity in the equation being tested - is his almost mindless devotion to his mission. Completely loyal to his Lord, he would barely think on giving up his life if he were so ordered. By the same token, however, he has few qualms about using what might be considered immoral methods to achieve his goals, and is impressively desensitised to violence, suffering, or emotion in general. Advantage or disadvantage? Well, that is the question... GOALS: To fulfil the orders given by his Lord; currently, that means eliminating Lord Perenolde. POSSESSIONS: As listed under "accessories" - Kit carries nothing that is not directly related to his mission, with a single exception - a pendant made of unfired red clay, in the shape of a circle. Although he appears to be taking care of this item, several cracks show in the sides, and are gradually spreading; because of the unfinished nature of the clay, it is ultimately rather fragile. CONCEPT OF LIFE: "I will do what I must." ARMOUR: A single small plate of elven steel, directly over his heart, which is sewn into the inside of his shirt. OTHER: See character sheet for details on abilities and such. PLAYER: Fox Lee
